DimeSense was founded with a simple mission: to inculcate personal finance skills and build financial literacy among students. By inculcating personal finance skills in young teenagers, we empower them to take the lead in their financial matters, setting them up for a life of financial independence.

Three-quarters of Indians—and close to four in five Indian women—lack basic financial literacy.

We’re here to change that. From the very start. At school.

DimeSense breaks down complex financial topics into simple, practical lessons for young adults. We are focused on making personal finance accessible and more empowering.

Financial literacy is a basic necessity. It should be a human right, not a privilege.
DimeSense is for all of us.
A Note from Briha
I started DimeSense in 2023 after noticing a gap that often goes unnoticed—how little we are taught about money, despite how deeply it shapes our everyday lives.

Growing up in India, I noticed firsthand the acute lack of financial literacy and practical personal finance skills that my peers and I were acclimatized to. Conversations around saving, spending, and financial independence are rarely had with students—and even less often with girls. Yet these unspoken gaps go on to influence financial independence later in life, particularly for girls.

DimeSense exists to make financial literacy accessible and relatable, for high school students, particularly those who lack access to structured financial education and resources. Through workshops, student-crafted resources, real-life applications, peer-led discussions, and open conversations, we work to help students build financial awareness early, setting a robust foundation for financial independence in adulthood.

Financial literacy shouldn’t be discovered too late—and it shouldn’t be limited to a few. It should not be a privilege, it is a human right.

DimeSense is for all of us.
